Oh my god! You are THE Shiver Metimbers?! I worship you, man! And this very scambaiting here must be one of the most elaborate ones ever. I mean, you even got them to meet with you and you had your friend Charlie Fake take footage of the event. You're pretty awesome, and ignore the haters!

That we finally agree that the police are better equipped to deal with such situations is good. From what you have written, you most probably have more knowledge about scams than I, and maybe I was unclear about what was meant by having more experience in this area. I meant in the area of law enforcement generally, not specifically scams. To appease the point on why I say what I say, I was involved as an officer with a UK police force over about four years.

Again I shall repeat; what is your experience? Is there any chance at all that you could answer this question? The point of your original message was that I don't have your experience; that may well e the case, so lets hear it. I completely agree that the police are better equipped to deal with scams. Whether they have the resources or willpower to do it is another thing entirely.

Yes, "your" members, Mr. Vigilante, or should I call you Sir Vigilante? Maybe I didn't make myself clear about professional training, of which you have none it seems. What your basically saying is you're a self professed expert on scams. The point from the beginning was that the police are better trained and equipped to deal with a situation such as the one in THIS video. You were wrong 100% in this case. Regardless, all the best with whatever you're doing and you're are doing more than most.

My members (of which we have 24,000 officially registered) have so far been in contact with more than 20,000 would-be scam victims, and have participated in many many arrests, and the handing over of many thousands of pieces of evidence to police forces worldwide.

Are you unable to answer a question? I asked you for some evidence of your experience. I asked about your experience! For me, I have been studying scams for 6 years. I have many international contacts, and have been involved with the arrest and conviction of scammers, specifically in South Africa. I have written a book on the subject and been interviewed on TV radio and the written media many dozens of time. I don't like blowing my own trumpet, but you did ask.
TheScamBuster (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Lol! What a typical vigilante response. If you want to argue this silly point, why don't you just say what your experience is then? Are you now, or have you been a law enforcement officer or criminal lawyer? The point was experience in law, not whether one has a web site or not! Whether you doubt something or not makes no difference at all. Stick to the topic. The fact remains that the police have far more resources nationally and internationally than you do in dealing with this type of crime.
419eater (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Oh, I would doubt very much you have my experience. I'm willing to take a look at your website/forum on the subject and deduce for myself though. Let me have the link.

Thank you for the advice. The only time vigilante's think they can do a better job than police specialists is when they delude themselves. No one can know it all as criminals are regularly inventing new scams. However, that does not preclude whether or not I understand the procedure of law. Reading your response, I can hazard a guess that I have much more experience than you in this area. Regardless, it's nice to see you had "fun" with a criminal.

You sound like a newbie to Internet scams (at least you do after visiting your channel) so perhaps you're unaware that reporting this guy to the UK police would serve no purpose whatsoever. The main criminal was based in Ghana, way out of harm's way. Here's and idea; go read the full story at our site, or better still, educate yourself a little more.Thanks. |
